WHAT IS CARPAL TUNNEL SYNDROME?
The phrase carpal tunnel refers to the small space in the wrist where the median nerve and several tendons run from the forearm to the hand. Carpal tunnel syndrome occurs when there is pressure on the median nerve, causing pain and numbness in the index, middle fingers, and thumb with occasional weakness. This pressure can result from anything that makes the carpal tunnel smaller, such as swelling.
WHO IS AT RISK

HOW CHIROPRACTIC CAN HELP
Studies show that chiropractic treatment can improve strength, range of motion, and pain in individuals who suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome. At West Family Chiropractic, this can be achieved through manipulation of the wrist, elbow, and upper spine. Ultrasound therapy, Low Level Light Therapy (also known as cold laser), and Graston Technique are also effective and are all available at our office. Although chiropractic treatment cannot cure carpal tunnel syndrome, it can help alleviate the symptoms. Feel free to contact our office for more information.
