WHAT IS WHIPLASH?
Whiplash is a term most commonly associated with car accidents, but can also occur after a fall, a sports injury, or a work injury. It is caused when there is an abrupt jerking motion of the head, causing the muscles and tendons in the neck to strain. When an individual gets whiplash, there is a possibility that the disks between the vertebrae could be torn, potentially causing disk herniation.

Whiplash can be very uncomfortable and it is very important that you begin treating it sooner rather than later. Contrary to popular belief, you DO NOT want to immobilize the neck in early treatment by wearing a neck brace because this can slow the healing process.
